Who said you can only eat Tacos on Tuesdays? Everyday is a good day to have an ice cold margarita and finger licking tacos! Looking for the most Instagram photo worthy place to get your Mexi-Can on? I’m loving La Cantina in the heart of downtown Vancouver. From their Lucha Libre inspired decor to their array of salsa’s, a full selection of Jarrito’s and homemade flan, there’s a little something for everyone!
I’ll start off by saying that great service goes a long way and was impressed by how friendly everyone was, smiles all around always rubs off on the customers, as you could see everyone was having a good time.
The food and drinks were great. Taco joints are a dime a dozen in VanCity so was hopeful for a place that could be my new go-to. We had a chance to try not one, not two, but a dozen different tacos! From white fish to shrimp, pork to chicken, mushrooms to jackfruit. A sprinkle of feta here and a handful of pickled onion there. My fav? I looooved the Gobernador the most with the shrimp and arbol combo, with the rock fish in a close second, third went to the Cochinita Pork that had the citrus Mayan style sauce. The burrito was maaaaassive, you could knock someone out with that thing! Ohhh and that homemade flan? I licked the plate clean so that tells you something.
I’m already planning my next visit! Gotta try the Tortilla soup, Churros, and a Horchata!!! Mmmm yum! Don’t miss their Happy Hour! Daily from 3-6 with some kickass deals like $2 tacos and $4 margaritas!
