Looking for the perfect Modern Italian dining experience? Italian Kitchen is a Glowbal Group restaurant in the hub of Vancouver near Robson & Burrard. Perfect for an intimate dinner for 2 or great for a holiday work party of 30! This award winning restaurant has amazing wait staff, talented chefs, beautiful decor and a mouthwatering menu. My most recent visit was this last week to try their new menu items and my first time at their new location that is gorgeous and elegant!
We started off with a refreshing beet salad made with roasted red & yellow beets, fennel, beet crema, preserved lemon, pistachio crumble, peppered greens, citrus vinaigrette. It was light and delicate and a great start to the evening. Next we tried some entrees, first off was the Parmesan crusted chicken, oh it was delicious. Licked my plate clean! It came with roasted brussels sprouts & cauliflower that was perfectly cooked, my fav kale gnocchi and mushroom mélange. I never used to like gnocchi but it’s now one of my favourite items… I even had it twice! Next off we had the pan seared Pacific Salmon and smoked salmon cannelloni with caramelized fennel and citrus tarragon. Couldn’t believe how tasty the cannelloni was, so flavourful and beautiful presentation! Lastly and the main even was the Sicilian duck for 2, the chef even came out to show us the duck before carving it up for us, served with pan fried gnocchi, seasonal vegetables, porcini & orange jus, once again the gnocchi was just to die for.
I feel like a generally go towards the pasta platter which is mouth watering and delicious but was so happy to finally try some other items that might just be some new favourites! We also had a chance to try some amazing wine that was paired perfectly with each course, this is something I would suggest, is having them pair a glass with each course, plus a nice glass of bubbly to start the evening off. Although we were too stuffed for dessert, their Italian style donuts are an absolute must, they’ve been on the menu as long as I can remember and are so delicious served with a vanilla crème anglaise. Also be sure to check out their happy hour, some great deals, can’t go wrong with $5 sangria! Also check out their bar to see the bartender carve up some fresh prosciutto with pasta hanging in the background, yum!
