Glowbal by Glowbal Group


Friday night I had one of the most amazing dinners with perfect ambiance, mouth watering food and delicious drinks. Finally had a chance to try Glowbal by the Glowbal group at the Telus Garden in the heart of Downtown Vancouver and it was superb! From the stunning decor inside and out, to the open concept kitchen, to the wrap around outside patio and bar, to the cage style booths. There were so many amazing menu items, it was almost impossible to choose!

They are a great location for work meeting, or business event with private executive rooms available to reserve, perfect for a night out with the ladies with their fun cage style outdoor booths, lovely for a romantic dinner for 2 with a view, and fitting for a brunch on the weekend with their caesar cart! I’ve been to a few of the Glowbal group restaurants now and am blown away by all of them, each with something different to entice you to each and every one of them! As the winner of the 2018 Diners Choice Award, they have options for everyone with their $13 for a burger & beer every Friday until 3pm, Cocktail Hour is daily from 230-6pm, plus join in on $5 feature drinks and $1 feature oysters!

We had a chance to try their Wagyu Beef Carpaccio with mustard seeds, dijon-horseradish aioli and a delicious garlic herb tuscan loaf. I’m a huge fan of dishes like a beef carpaccio or steak tartare so just had to try it! Perfect start the the evening. Then they brought over a amuse-bouche of Truffle Mushroom Soup, I drank mine and my boyfriends! Mmmm truffle on anything and you have me! For dinner I had the Seafood Carbonara. With prawns, scallops, lobster and pancetta I just couldn’t resist! As y’all know I’m a huge seafood fan so couldn’t pass up a menu item that was jam packed with it! Topped with egg, black pepper and parmigiano-reggiano of course. My boyfriend ordered the slow braised Lamb Shank, and let me say, no knife required! He touched it with the knife and it fell off the bone! Paired with chimichurri, mashed potatoes, and a super fun tableside au jus poured right over top like your a celebrity! For dessert we had an amazing banana cream pie type dish served on the most buttery crust with a scoop of vanilla bean ice cream. Drooool.

We also had a chance to try some amazing cocktails including the Illusionist made with Aperol, a chamomile and honey infused ice sphere, and topped with prosecco that slowly melts the ice and gets more and more delicious as you sip it! With dessert I had the Glowbal Pick Me Up which is a fav cocktail of mine, made with chilled espresso, Kahlúa and Baileys. We also tried the Italian Kitchen which was perfect for a hot summer’s day on the patio. The best part was when Manuel came by with the summer cocktail cart! So fun and creative! They make a cocktail right at your table which was super exciting to watch, so we ordered an Old Fashioned and the most delicious, the Watermelon Margartita! Mmmm can’t wait to get back there and try some more menu items, next time their Brunch is an absolute must so I can finally check out their Caesar cart and drool worthy benedits and breakfast items like the hash and the Francesinha, which you’ll have to visit them to find out what it is!
