Living in Vancouver I’m often asked what my favourite restaurant is. If you know me well, you would know my favourite foods are shellfish and sushi so an obvious choice and favourite has always been Coast.

Coast is a Glowbal restaurant in the hub of Vancouver. They have options for everyone with their under $10 feature lunch entrees, $5 happy hour cocktails, buck a shuck oysters and 3 course West Coast dinners. From an intimate dinner for 2 to a work party of 200, in a private room, to socializing at the bar, there is an option for everyone!

This award winning restaurant has amazing wait staff, talented chefs, beautiful decor and a mouthwatering menu. My most recent visit was this past week to try their new featured items. From the drinks to the dessert, everything was delicious!

We had a chance to try their Fish & Chip cones, I’m a huge fan of sushi type cones so these were right up my alley, made with tempura code and Japanese tartar sauce. Then we had some chilli garlic prawns…. oooo so good, I love prawns so these glazed wok-fried massive prawns were delicious! Then we had some interesting Polenta fries there were served as an Italian style poutine. If your a fan of lasagna and sausage then you’ll love them! Followed by that delectable lamb shank, it was melt in your mouth and served with some mint, onion and tomato quinoa. My favourite, the dish to gush over was the Lobster pot pie, it was the most delicious lobster, massive, and served on a broken down pot pie mixture of carrots, potatoes, peas, a buttery cream sauce and a soft puff pastry. Lastly we had the coconut banana butter cake. Can I just say… this was amazing! Hands down a new fav dessert is Vancouver, no wonder it’s been on the menu for 11 years straight!

We also had a chance to try some amazing cocktails including the Alberni spritzer that was perfectly and refreshing for a hot summer day, love the St Germaine flavours that pop thru. The Sunset Beach was a delicious tropical choice with pineapple juice and Oakheart rum in a fancy coupe glass. The Vancouverite which was a play on a Chambers & gin sour, mmmm a fav for sure. Also the Thyme & Figs, loved this short glass with a mini Fentiman’s tonic, pimms and fig syrup was the perfect touch!
